Sheldon, IA — The community of Sheldon is mourning the tragic loss of Jeremy Korth, 27, who died as a result of injuries sustained in a fatal motorcycle accident on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, south of Sheldon, Iowa.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at approximately 10:57 p.m. on Highway 60, about one mile south of town. Korth was driving a 2012 Harley-Davidson Road Glide motorcycle southbound when he left the roadway, entered the west ditch, and was ejected after the motorcycle rolled.
Emergency responders from the Sheldon Ambulance transported Korth to Sheldon Hospital, where he was later airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Tragically, Korth passed away from his injuries.
The motorcycle sustained an estimated $18,000 in damages. The incident remains under investigation.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the Sheldon Fire Department, and Sheldon Ambulance.
Jeremy Korth is remembered as a valued member of the Sheldon community. His sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of friends, family, and loved ones.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
